AN ARTFUL APPROACH TO
HELPING A WORTHY CAUSE

Don, an artist and retired art teacher from Sylvania, Ohio, lost his ability to paint because of an essential tremor. Deep brain stimulation (DBS) at The Ohio State University Medical Center restored that ability. A lifelong Buckeye, Don wanted to give back to Ohio State by using his painting to help raise funds for research. He'd like his story to help others.

DON GIVES BACK THROUGH HIS ART

As a way to say thank you, Don created a painting that depicts many of Ohio State's most recognizable campus landmarks. Hear Don talk about the intricate sgraffito technique he used to create his art, his inspiration for the piece, and how it's being used to raise money for life-changing research for people with severe neurological problems.
